Old is the New Black!!! So I must be ‘on trend’!
Over 50? In that case, consider yourself part of one of the biggest demographics on the planet today. The older woman holds more power and influence than she ever did in years past.
Being ignored by employers? Partners? Other decision makers? Or do you feel ignored by life itself while you find yourself looking after everyone else but yourself.
I’m just back from running another one of our Ageless Being Saturdays. These are our movement, breath and nutrition interactive Saturdays that have proven to be a huge success. They’re fun! We breath, move, eat and sometimes dance. The purpose? To educate on the influence of ageing and how we can remain well, strong and vital for as many years as we can. If you’re feeling that life is passing you by but you know you still want to grab hold of its coat tails then read on.
Isn’t it funny how so many people say ‘find your passion’ and it’s years of confusion and mistake making and discovery before you actually do find that elusive ‘passion’. Sometimes we never do. Glad I have – at the ripe old age of 50 something.
You know what inspired me? Ageing – pure and simple.
The other thing that occurred to me is – if I’m ageing, so must everyone else around me!! And if others are going through the symptoms I’m going through, why not create a connection for as many of us as possible. Sharing what I know about how the midlife woman can stay healthy, vibrant, strong and young looking is information desperately sought from all agegroups. I’ve gone through the wringer and come out the other end feeling better and looking better than I did 10 years ago. But then 10 years ago I was sinking fast. I don’t want you to be mislead by the term ‘young looking’ – I’m not talking about how you can look younger than your years or the old ‘mutton as lamb’ meaning.
When we ‘look’ young, our body and mind follow and vice versa. When we start to strengthen mind and body the ‘looking’ young follows.
Muscle and skin texture can’t help but keep up with us when we’re exercising with a little weight bearing with our own body weight, breathing deeply, getting a little puffed out and sweating. Our body and particularly our skin loves and needs this.
A few weeks ago the Sunday liftout had a brilliant article about ageing. We have a very large population now over the age of 50 but we’re not ageing like our mothers did. We don’t want to. There’s plenty of information out there about how not to. We’re fitter, more aware and facing the possibility of living longer. But we all so desperately want to live WELL for longer. The degeneration that haunts us is something we need every last form of ammunition to ward off.
Did you see this article about the supermodel Daphne Selfe. She talks about embracing the years, moving the body and being aware of the foods that will create the degeneration. This is all a great benefit of ageing well, but you know what really matters?
I think what really matters is being able to get up off the floor should you find yourself on it. Being able to do up your own shoelaces, go walk around the block and wipe your own butt and live a reasonably independent, happy, healthy life for as long as we possibly can. If you can move around, catch a bus, do some stretch exercises from the floor and care for your hygiene and general basic needs while you’re an 80 or 90+ that’s so much better than a lot of our aged population.
Our medical facilities are stretched to the limit, rooms are full and the care is stressed.
Carers do the best they can but I want to do the best I CAN to be my own carer. That comes with knowing how to be an Ageless Being. Caring for our liver, gut, muscles, bones, mental state, lymphatic system and self chatter all add up to what will manifest in our body and on our face as we age.
What are you telling yourself about ageing? What do you believe will happen to you? Did you know that what you tell yourself will turn up? So tell yourself a different story.
Send me a message about our Ageless Being Saturdays. Come and experience one. There’s nothing like them happening anywhere.

Thanks so much for the encouragement Violet, so very appreciated.
Thanks Sherrill.
Hi Stephania,
I’m just getting my techno learning up to date and I’ll have the submit or opt in forms sorted soon, but thanks for your feedback.
Thanks – I’m still getting this bloggy stuff right so apologies if your comment disappeared.
Thanks heaps, I’m still learning however.
Thanks Tresa,
